Rear View Camera System with SmartZoneTM Sensing

Tragically, on average, two children are killed each week and approximately 50 people are hospitalized after being hit by vehicles backing up. Since 2001, about 600 children have died in these non-traffic related, rollover incidents. Drivers cannot see the children and other pedestrians behind them because "blind spots" inhibit rearward visibility. The blind spots, which can actually be 34 feet or more in length on light trucks and larger sport utility vehicles, can hide as many as 60 children from the driver's view. Vehicle windows are also getting smaller as vehicle body styles change making it more difficult to see while backing your vehicle.
                              



For these reasons, Hopkins Manufacturing is proud to introduce its new NVISION Rear View Camera System with SmartZoneTM Sensing. This accessory works on most kinds of vehicles and features a 2.5-inch LCD color monitor that provides easy-to-see rear coverage on automobiles, trucks, SUVs and minivans. It also includes a wide-angle, water resistant, color camera that adjust left/right, up/down for the ultimate consumer preference and maximum visibility while backing. SmartZoneTM Sensors are adjustable as well, allowing the consumer to get the maximum detection zone for their specific vehicle. The camera and SmartZoneTM sensors identify objects in the detection zone (Green, Yellow, and Red) as an object behind the vehicle becomes closer (within 5.5' of the vehicle bumper). The sensors are equipped with SmartZoneTM sensing. The sensors actively sense the location (Left, Middle, and Right) and how far away the object is from the vehicle, letting you know the exact location of an object. An alarm sound will increase in intensity as the object behind the vehicle becomes closer. The automatic screen turns on upon shifting into reverse gear. The 2.5" color LCD monitor displays what the object is behind the vehicle and lets you know how close you are to the object with (Green, Yellow, Red) indicators on the screen.  The complete installation takes approximately an hour, less than that for the more experienced Do-It-Yourselfer. Simply, place the license plate on the main bracket and attach to the back of the vehicle. Then attach wires accordingly to complete the installation.


More than 50 percent of households have one child or more. Approximately 65 percent of all drivers fall between the age of 18 to 45, a very likely range for parents with small children. More than 40 percent of drivers own a minivan, SUV or pickup truck that can have blind spots that can exceed 34 feet, and more than 50 percent of the top 20-selling vehicles in the United States do have blind spots greater than 30 feet.
The NVISION Rear View Camera System provides greatly improved rearward visibility when backing up and helps drivers to judge distances better when maneuvering backward to park. More importantly, SmartZoneTM sensing technology provides greater peace of mind when driving around areas where children and pedestrians are present.

Hopkins also has a Back Up Sensor System that includes SmartZoneTM sensing with an audible alarm that increases in intensity as an object becomes closer. When a solid tone is reached the driver should stop immediately to avoid an accident. This product is great for the budget-minded consumer who wanting to prevent rear-end accidents. As we approach the spring selling season, now is the time to be discussing promotion opportunities with your buyers. With the wide array of products from trailer wiring, funnels, storage products, cleaning, and new products, we provide many promotional opportunities. You should have recently received our "Promote for Profit" flyer that details the many product sidekicks and marketing calendar. This is a great guide to show your customers the many new products and merchandisers to help sell them. Sidekicks are a proven way to help drive incremental sales for the customer as well as a way to place new items that do not have a permanent spot in the plan-o-gram. In economic times as this, we need to make every effort to ask for product promotions and drive sales we may otherwise not get. Make sure when you have appointments with your buyers to show them our promotional calendar and ask for promotional opportunities. Now is the time to get promo's placed to help us drive incremental sales growth.

GET TO KNOW : Ryan Hulings

Ryan Hulings is a Product Specialist in the Marketing department at Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation. 
Today, Ryan works with the Flotool product line. He grew up in Overbrook, KS. Ryan earned his bachelor's degree in Business at Emporia State, with a double major in Administration and Management.
Ryan enjoys doing a variety of different activities while not working. This includes basketball, football, slow-pitch softball, volleyball, golf, bowling, pretty much any outdoor activities. Ryan also enjoys watching the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs. Coworkers value his hard work, good attitude, and calm manner. Ryan said, "I like the atmosphere of the company, all the employees, being involved with new opportunities and product lines and because I got to go to LA my 2nd day of being in the marketing department.
